What a lovely blanket! I agree with Candi that it would be great if you put the pattern together and made it available through Ravelry. But you know your own schedule :-)

I've listened to only one of the books listed on Audiofile. I had started The Cemetery of Untold Stories but it was a library copy, and I didn't finish it in time. Other people were waiting for it so I probably didn't have the option to renew. Meanwhile, I'm spending my time in Venice, Italy with Commisario Brunetti (Donna Leon). I've believe I'm on book 8. What is more interesting to me than the solving of crimes is how citizens manage to function under a government that is unabashedly corrupt.

Thanks for adding your vote!

I'm looking forward to getting back to Commisario Brunetti, now that I've finished the Mrs. Pollifax series. I've only listened to the first one, and I loved it. Venice is high my list of "hopefully, someday" destinations. I've been taking Italian lessons on Duolingo lately under the theory that if I'm prepared, it's more likely to happen. 😏

The series is what I call a “slow burn.” Lots of character development, focus on relationships, with crime being almost ancillary at times. I would love to visit Venice too. There was another series I was listening to—I can’t remember the author—but it takes place in modern Venice, the main character being a British widower. I fell in love with Venice then.

I found it. The series is The Venetian Mysteries by David Hewson. Only two books in the series so far, read by Richard Armitage who is one of my favorite narrators. Hewson has another series (taking place in Rome) which I haven’t listened to … yet 🙂

Any chance you could remember anything about that second series? I tried Googling, so as to not bother you in the first instance, but came up empty..

Nice blankie! I haven't read or listened to any of those books. Way behind the times. I am just finishing the audiobook of the Mother Tree. Recommend!

You should write up the pattern and put it on Ravelry, it's an interesting and beautiful pattern. Great job.

As for the books, I only read 2 of the fiction books as well. Lately I've been caught up in a "Slow Horses" spy book series by Mick Herron and just finished the last one of 8. I thoroughly enjoyed them and it's also a series on Apple TV.

We are having cold foggy weather that really calls for any way to stay warm. A 'BIG BABY' blanket would be wonderful to snuggle up into with a book and cup of tea! Thanks for all the details and helpful how-to's with links. All good stuff. Still loving the colors of this yarn!

Superwash isn't usually my first choice, but Purl Soho's Daily Wool was a pleasure from first stitch to last.
