Not that I need another project, but I’ve bought kits from Anne Weil before and have been very happy with them so that sealed it for me. I have a bit of a basket fetish too so it would be good to learn to make my own 😉
Oh, that zoom basket weaving class is very tempting! And so are the yarns they are offering at the website! ✨ Decisions... decisions. On a positive note, about your upcoming surgery, I have been surrounded by acquaintances having their knees, hips and eyes tuned-up for that past several years. All I am happy to say with remarkably good outcomes! The Other Significant Others sounds like a book that has been needed for a long time. Perhaps even more so now with the uncertainty of our legal rights disappearing in the blink of an eye. Over the years, I have known unlikely people forming unique 'families' in one way or another that seemed to work year in - year out. Being there for one another when the car broke down or meals needed to be made and dishes done afterward. Having someone to share the driving with to make a trip possible. So, comforting whether you share a bed or not. Looking forward to the audio book!
If you are looking for inspiration in basketry, google Jeremy Frey. I just saw his show at the Portland Museum of Art and it is astounding. I hope your surgery goes well and recovery is swift.
