My local library is screening “Free For All” later this month. I’m looking forward to seeing it and being part of the Q&A following it. Libraries are essential parts of our communities!

I’m thrilled to hear your library is showing the film (though that seems like preaching to the choir😉). When you watch it keep in mind that the librarian of congress was fired by President Trump this week. She appears in the film.

Asheville, NC area libraries have had cuts to hours and budgets due to Buncombe County’s loss of revenue following Hurricane Helene so our county library staff will be on hand for discussion. It could get interesting! And I saw that Carla Hayden was fired yesterday. All of the competent people are threats to him. So sad!

Gorgeous shawl! I just bought the pattern 🙂 Thank you for the discount! I’ve knitted so many shawls in so many ways. I’m sure I’ve knitted a crescent-shaped shawl at some point, but definitely not lately. When I worked in an office, I almost always had a shawl nearby if I wasn’t wearing it. Ditto when I went on business trips. The air conditioning in offices and conference centers could be downright chilly. Have fun at h + h!

Thank you. After 4 days at a convention center, I can confirm the overuse of AC is an issue in public spaces.

Love Elizabeth Strout! Love Olive Kitteridge! I'm not such a fan of Lucy Barton herself, but that's a testament to the author's ability to paint an authentic character. I did enjoy the books. (Did you know there's an Olive Kitteridge miniseries? I just learned this two minutes ago. That might just prompt me to subscribe to Max for one month.)

I also love the shawl; thanks for sharing!

I think I saw the Olive Kitteridge mini series some years ago. With Frances MacDormand, right?

The Visible Mending is a very cute heartfelt short. I’m intrigued by the tension birds. Is there a pattern somewhere. I got to her website but no pattern that I could see.

I’m not aware of an actual pattern. Why don’t you try free-styling it with squares you have on hand?
